New DEA installation for SSR Performance in Munich
The classic DEA modular furniture, details that make the workstations unique and unusual painting techniques: these are the ingredients of the new Made in Italy workshop installation in Munich.
SSR Performance, an important German car repair center, has built a new facility in Munich to further expand the range of services offered. The team's passion for speed and adrenaline has led them to specialize in sports cars, but they also carry out all types of repairs on classic cars of any brand.
DEA contributed to the creation of the new workshop by creating a custom installation.
The request: uniqueness and organization
The starting point was clear: the customer wanted a unique, very organized and functional installation that would help all operators to work better and more accurately.
Turning to the aesthetic aspect, however, it wanted customized components with the same color of its racing car, as well as what distinguishes the company in the different communication channels: acid green.
The solution
After an inspection and an in-depth interview with the customer, DEA professionals have designed workstations choosing components that fully meet the expressed needs.
The choice of workshop furniture
The design included a solution made up of standard DEA furnishing, including tool trolleys, drawer units, cabinets, and roll up.
More refined details have been added to these classic components.
First of all, 110 cm high (around 43 inches) ecological containers (20 cm / 7 inches higher than the workbenches). A small detail which, however, makes the difference: by using more capacious containers than the more standard solutions, it was possible to install less of them, and therefore save space in the workshop.
As further customization, stainless steel worktops have been chosen to be placed on all the benches. In addition to having a great aesthetic impact, they are resistant to any type of aggressive fluid.

Customization with liquid paint
As expressly requested by the customer during the design phase, the workshop furniture had to contain the acid green color, of which we were given a sample.
That exact color, however, was not among the colors made available by powder coating, the technique that is generally used for this type of furniture. But that didn't stop the DEA team.
With a pinch of creativity, and help from expert car painters, the problem was solved by painting the panels with liquid paint. Thanks to this unusual technique, the result obtained was impeccable and faithful to the project shared with the customer.
