What does a mechanic workstation look like?
A well-made mechanic workstation helps to increase the efficiency and productivity of any kind of workshop. A complete, resistant and functional worktop can significantly improve mechanics’ and technicians’ productivity and speed-up daily operations. DEA workstations have all the credentials to achieve these results.
The most modern mechanics always look only for the best for their workshop. Even the workstation must be up to the highest quality standards: what characteristics must it have in order to improve the operators' working day?
There are elements that make a workstation a real ally for all mechanics. Let's see which.
The essential components of a mechanic workstation
A wide and resistant worktop
A self-respecting workstation must first of all have a fully welded structure. To meet all the needs of a garage repair shop, it must also have a top specifically built to withstand bumps, scratches, acids, oils, chemicals, and so on.
Recommended by DEA: top for 3-module AR-009 workstation
The perfect cover for a mechanic workstation: the AR-009 worktop consists of a sheet folded four times, with welded corners and 2 omega reinforcement bars along the entire length of the module.
There is a DTC cover in the upper part from the top, which makes it resistant to scratches, mineral oils, gasoline, and acids, as well as being easy to clean.
All components are epoxy powder-coated.
Lots of well-organised drawers
There are a multitude of parts and tools in a mechanical workshop. Organising them methodically is essential to find everything at the first try.
The ideal solution is a workstation complete with tool trolleys with drawers and dividers, perfect for storing tools, small tools and parts.
Recommended by DEA: Tool Trolley AR-131.10, Drawer Divider AR-017.16.9, Rubber Mat SPAR-016-SPN
The AR-131.10 6-drawer trolley is an excellent choice for keeping tools in perfect order. The trolley is mounted on guides resistant up to 45kg and is equipped with a fixed closing back assembled in the furniture.
The tool trolley is equipped with a lock with key to close all the drawers, an ergonomic handle made of extruded aluminium with a label holder, and 4 reinforced castor wheels, two of which are fitted with brakes.
To keep smaller parts in order, we recommend completing the trolley with special dividers and non-slip rubber mats.
A compartment to store disassembled and spare parts
The workstation must always be free from parts not currently in use. For agile and precise work, we recommend a mechanic workstation complete with tyre-holder bench.
Recommended by DEA: AR-061.02 mechanic workstation and AR-302.02 tyre-holder bench
One of the most classic DEA furnishings: the single mechanic workstation, with shelf with protective ABS cover, is equipped with adjustable feet for perfect module levelling.
We recommend combining it with a double tyre-holder workstation, equipped with adjustable feet, a stainless steel base and two rubber stop rollers.
A mobile trolley
Mechanic workstations generally come complete with tool drawers, but they can be even more efficient with mobile trolleys that can be pulled near the vehicle to be serviced.
To make a trolley even more efficient for a mechanic workshop, an additional shelf with electrical sockets is definitely ideal.
Recommended by DEA: AR-295.10 tool trolley and AR-300 kit
The single tool trolley with 7-drawer workshop drawer unit, is mounted on guides resistant up to 45kg and is equipped with a fixed closing back assembled in the furniture.
To complete it, we recommend the compatible additional shelf kit, consisting of a painted sheet metal structure and electrical sockets integrated within the structure itself.
A waste container
The final touch for the perfect workplace is a large waste container in line with the image of the mechanical workshop.
Recommended by DEA: AR-217.11 waste container module
A waste container module with left-hand door opening “like a book” has now become indispensable to complete a workstation.
Equipped with a flat bottom made of stainless steel to allow for the insertion of a waste container, it has an ergonomic handle made of extruded aluminium and adjustable feet.
